Tour of the Places of Faith in Santarcangelo di Romagna

A walk through the spiritual heart of the medieval town

Santarcangelo’s deep connection with spirituality is reflected in its very name: Santarcangelo, in honour of the Archangel Gabriel, patron saint of the town. Because Santarcangelo is a town of art and artists, but also of worship and tradition.

“The Places of Faith” is a special itinerary through the town’s religious buildings — true treasure chests of art — and the stories of its Blessed. Every church, from the splendid Collegiata to the ancient Pieve di San Michele Arcangelo, holds masterpieces by extraordinary artists such as Guido Cagnacci, Giovan Battista Costa, Gaetano Lombardini and others. The tour is enriched by a special stop at the Historical and Archaeological Museum: we will go up to the noble floor to admire precious artefacts and discover the fascinating history of the ancient Church of San Francesco.
